Top Tips for Delegates

Registration is now closed and there will not be scope to purchase tickets on the morning of conference as the venue is now at capacity.  Registration opens at 8.15 am, when you arrive in Croke Park please report to registration desk where a member of the team will check you in and provide you with your conference pack.

Below are some tips to help you get the most from conference.

For directions to the venue please see the Croke Park website https://crokepark.ie/getting-here/meetings-and-events-parking . For those of you who are driving there is parking available at Croke Park.

This year the conference booklet will be electronic. Our platinum sponsor Nutricia have uploaded this to a USB for each delegate. If you wish to read the detailed abstracts on the day of the conference please bring your USB compatible device.

In order to provide a variety of speakers relevant to the various specialities within SLT there will be three seminars running concurrently. It is important that you consider your choice of seminar wisely as it is not possible to switch between seminars. Late admission to sessions will not be permitted as this can be disruptive to presenters and delegates.

This year at conference there are 65 posters presentations. Posters must be mounted before Thursday 25th morning coffee break and taken down after the lunch break on Friday 26th. Velcro will be provided. There will be much traffic around the posters so it may be useful to bring some A4 copies of your poster to share with delegates. It is important that you bring your poster home with you. For oral presentation there will be a speaker ready area where a technician will assist you with uploading your presentation.

Full presenter guidelines are available at the following link http://conference.iaslt.ie/?page_id=1558

For the first year Special Interest Groups (SIGs) will be present at the conference. There is a designated space for SIGs where you can meet SIGs and find out about the work that they are involved in.

As a thank you to all of the delegates there is the opportunity to win prizes!

  • For those voting members attending AGM there will be a raffle for a one night stay in the Hilton Bankside in London
  • Those earlybirds who registered before the end of April will be entered into a draw to win a one night stay at Croke Park Hotel
  • At conference each delegate will be given a card to collect stamps from exhibitors. Those delegates who fill their card with exhibitor stamps will be entered into a draw for some spot prizes.

We hope to spread the word about #iasltcon 2017 and SLT in the Irish context as wide as possible and encourage delegates to use twitter. During the last few conferences we were using #iasltcon and will continue to use this for #iasltcon 2017. As an incentive to tweet we will be offering treats for #iasltcon tweets.
